Seasonal Immunity Blend
Seasonal Immunity Blend
Our Seasonal Immunity Blend is a powerful, immunity-boosting blend of turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger and shakkar (jaggery powder). It is the perfect go-to warming blend for bolstering seasonal immunity, especially at the time when seasons are changing (whether the rains or winters are coming, or the transition between winter and spring). This blend is also an incredible way to keep the flu away. At the same time, this blend is a delicious blend combining the trio of turmeric, ginger and black pepper with the sweet goodness of cinnamon and shakkar.
Turmeric, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Ginger and Shakkar (Jaggery powder).
Potential Health Benefits
Several compounds in turmeric may support your health, the most well-known of these is curcumin. Turmeric can help fight inflammation and keep blood sugar levels steady. In addition, curcumin might help you to fight off a variety of viruses and the flu; help ease PMS symptoms; bring relief from menstrual cramps; and ease joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation.
Further, turmeric, black pepper and ginger is a powerful combination. Research has showed that combining the piperine in black pepper with the curcumin in turmeric enhances curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%. The anti-inflammatory properties of both turmeric and black pepper may aid in reducing gut inflammation, which can help with digestion.
- Scoop one teaspoon (~2gm) of the Seasonal Immunity Blend into the infuser for one cup.
- Pour in freshly boiled water (ideally at 80°C)
- Let it brew for 5-6 min. Stay close to this steep time for optimal flavor.
- Use again and again, you can add more hot water to the blend at least 2-3 times.
Time of Day
Savor a cup of this no-caffeine delicacy anytime of the day. Especially good when the seasons are changing.
ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS
Scientific research has shown that turmeric has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities and also has a potential to reduce the risk of various malignant diseases, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and other chronic illness including rheumatoid arthritis. Studies have shown that curcumin, the major phenolic compound present in turmeric, is particularly effective at reducing the risk of colon, skin, oral, and intestinal cancer and has excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin is very effective at scavenging peroxyl radicals. Further studies have showed that curcumin and many of its carbocyclic analogs have excellent free radical scavenging properties, but curcumin is probably the strongest antioxidant present in turmeric.
With love, from the Himalayas
In 1882, our great-great grandparents came to Dharmsala and immediately fell in love with the beautiful, lush green tea slopes and the majestic, snow-capped Himalayan peaks. That year, when they founded The Dharmsala Tea Company, the Kangra District Gazette described the tea as ‘superior to that produced in any other part of India’.
As sixth generation tea planters, we carefully preserve the tradition of sharing this single - origin Kangra Tea with the rest of the world. Our tea remains evocative of our core values of simplicity, naturalness, purity, love, and sustainability. Culture, philosophy, art, health, friends and nature intersect in Dharmsala, a place that inspires and moulds our values, a place with which our family has been associated for over 135 years.
Our focus on retaining our family heritage and roots in Dharmsala is equally matched by a concerted effort to revive elements – art, philosophy, culture, wildlife and nature - that make Kangra such a distinct region. Kangra Art, for example, flourished here centuries ago but has been bereft of the patronage it once enjoyed. We want to change that. In an effort to revive Kangra art, therefore, our packaging for the teas is inspired by Kangra miniature art.
Today, Dharmsala Tea Company is about so much more than just tea. It’s advocating a way of life. We want to embrace modernity, but not lose what's precious from our past. We want to advance, but not at a pace that adversely affects our health. We want to evolve, but not lose sight of the values that keep us grounded. Its balance that we seek.
In all the rushed madness of today's world, we want our teas to transport you to Dharmsala, a place of peace, calm, and tranquility. So come, take this journey with us.
