Hibiscus Detox Blend

The Hibiscus Detox Blend - Hibiscus Tea With Mint and Lemongrass

Our Hibiscus Tea with Mint and Lemongrass, also known as The Hibiscus Detox Blend, is made using dried petals of Hibiscus, a beautiful tropical flower, blended masterfully with fragrant mint leaves and the evergreen, citrus-y lemongrass. The tea, besides being delicious as a hot tea or as an iced tea, has a beautiful pink hue when brewed.

A caffeine-free tisane, our Hibiscus Tea with Mint and Lemongrass is fragrant, tangy yet intricately balanced. Hibiscus is unique in that its flavor profile includes fruity, sweet, sour, and astringent notes.  The sourness and tanginess of the hibiscus leaves is beautifully balanced and rounded out by the citrus-y and lemon-y flavour of the lemongrass and the refreshing coolness of the mint leaves.

This distinct blend of ingredients combine together to provide a boost of anti-oxidants and phyto-nutrients to your body, rejuvenate your digestive tracts, reduce inflammation, manage cholesterol levels, aid in weight loss and absorption of food, and help flush out toxins from your body.

Ingredients

Hibiscus Petals, Mint Leaves & Lemongrass

Potential Health Benefits

Our master tea blenders have carefully chosen the three ingredients in this blend as they work together to provide benefits greater than they might provide if consumed individually.

Hibiscus: According to scientific studies, Hibiscus Tea has topped the list of over 3,100 beverages for anti-oxidant content, beating popular options such as matcha.  Hibiscus is a great source of antioxidants, which help fight free radicals and reduce oxidative damage in your cells. Drinking hibiscus tea offers heart-healthy benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, lowering cholesterol levels, and also aiding in weight loss.

Mint: Besides its well-known cooling and refreshing effect, mint contains phytonutrients that have antioxidant-like properties, which may reduce cellular damage in your body caused by oxidative stress. Anti-inflammatory compounds contained within mint may also help limit chronic inflammation in your body. Owing to its carminative properties, mint also helps in digestion and assimilation of food.

Lemongrass: Like mint, lemongrass also helps fight against free radicals, thus reducing the incidence of inflammation in the body. Notably, lemongrass contains key inflammation-fighting compounds such as citral and geranial. A cup of lemongrass tea is also an effective go-to alternative remedy for digestion-related issues such as an upset stomach, stomach cramping, and other digestive problems. Lemongrass also helps cleanse and flush out toxins from the body due to its diuretic properties.

ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus tea has been shown to have the highest level of anti-oxidants of any beverage, and therefore can help fight chronic diseases like hypertension, inflammation, visible signs of ageing, and potentially aid in weight management as well. Hibiscus is also high in iron, a mineral that keeps the immune system balanced and helps the body to maintain red blood cells. Recent scientific studies have shown that people with diabetes and hypertension may benefit from drinking hibiscus tea daily.  Hibiscus finds its place in several of our Wellness Blends, including Himalayan Healing Blend, Hibiscus Green Tea, Himalayan Keshyam Blend, and the all-time favourite of many of our customers, the Relaxing Tisane

Mint TeaMint, besides its well-known cooling and refreshing effect, contains phytonutrients that have antioxidant-like properties, which may reduce cellular damage in your body caused by oxidative stress. Anti-inflammatory compounds contained within mint may also help limit chronic inflammation in your body. Owing to its carminative properties, mint also helps in digestion and assimilation of food. Mint leaves act as a powerful adaptogenic herb which can regulate and stimulate stress response. It is valued as a healing herb in Ayurvedic medicine for relief from headache. Mint finds its place in several of our Herbal Tea Blends, including Himalayan Healing Blend, Himalayan Mint Green Tea, Mint Peppermint Tea, Sleepy Himalayan Bear, and the Goodness of Moringa.

Lemongrass Tea

Lemongrass also helps fight against free radicals, thus reducing the incidence of inflammation in the body. Notably, lemongrass contains key inflammation-fighting compounds such as citral and geranialchlorogenic acid, isoorientin, and swertiajaponin. A cup of lemongrass tea is also an effective go-to alternative remedy for digestion-related issues such as an upset stomach, stomach cramping, and other digestive problems. Lemongrass also helps cleanse and flush out toxins from the body due to its diuretic properties. Lemongrass is a common ingredient in many of our Herbal Teas, such as Lemongrass Ginger Green Tea, Masala Chai (Himalayan Thunderstorm Tea), Lemongrass Green Tea Bags, Chamomile & Lemongrass Green Tea, Relaxing Night Blend, The Winter Sun, Relaxing Tisane Tea Bags, Goodness of Moringa, Himalayan Skin Cleanse Blend, Positive Energy Blend, and finally, the Yogi Morning Blend.

Our Story

With love, from the Himalayas

Dholadhar and Tea

In 1882, our great-great grandparents came to Dharmsala and immediately fell in love with the beautiful, lush green tea slopes and the majestic, snow-capped Himalayan peaks. That year, when they founded The Dharmsala Tea Company, the Kangra District Gazette described the tea as ‘superior to that produced in any other part of India’.

As sixth generation tea planters, we carefully preserve the tradition of sharing this single - origin Kangra Tea with the rest of the world. Our tea remains evocative of our core values of simplicity, naturalness, purity, love, and sustainability. Culture, philosophy, art, health, friends and nature intersect in Dharmsala, a place that inspires and moulds our values, a place with which our family has been associated for over 135 years.

Towa Tea estate

Our focus on retaining our family heritage and roots in Dharmsala is equally matched by a concerted effort to revive elements – art, philosophy, culture, wildlife and nature - that make Kangra such a distinct region. Kangra Art, for example, flourished here centuries ago but has been bereft of the patronage it once enjoyed. We want to change that. In an effort to revive Kangra art, therefore, our packaging for the teas is inspired by Kangra miniature art.

Today, Dharmsala Tea Company is about so much more than just tea. Its advocating a way of life. We want to embrace modernity, but not lose what's precious from our past. We want to advance, but not at a pace that adversely affects our health. We want to evolve, but not lose sight of the values that keep us grounded. Its balance that we seek.

In all the rushed madness of today's world, we want our teas to transport you to Dharmsala, a place of peace, calm, and tranquility. So come, take this journey with us.

The road ahead
